A fantastic comeback this year with World Championships Gold medal over the Long distance and overall World Cup victory after giving birth to her child. Also: Two additional medals at the World Champs this year - Bronze in Sprint and Middle.

Story
At the second last day of the World Champs in Hungary her team mates served her a perfect position for a Gold medal - or at least a medal - in the Relay. In the end she lost the fight against Marianne Andersen, Helena Jansson and Minna Kauppi after searching for a well hidden control for minutes - and Switzerland ended 4th. Probably one of the biggest setbacks for Simone in her career - but it might have given her that little extra she needed for the Long distance two days later?.

After 14 Silver and Bronze medals in major championships, finally winning a gold medal in the World Champs thanks to a fantastic last leg on the WOC Relay. Also: Winning Silver medals in WOC Long and Middle.

Story
- Thanks to an intense fear for ruining this possibility for a World Championships Gold medal, I managed to get a 4-5 seconds lead to Helena Jansson on the way out of the third last control. And that was enough: Andersen kept the lead all the way to the finish, where she was met by extremely happy team-mates. After 14 Silver and Bronze medals in World Champs, European Champs and Nordic Champs - the last silver medal on the Middle distance just a few days ahead of the Relay - the Gold medal was finally there for the Norwegian runner!

Story
She is only 18 years old - and with 4 medals of 4 possible in the Junior World Champs in Italy she got the Queen of JWOC. One month earlier, she was part of Ulricehamns winning Venla Team - running the first leg. This young Danish girl has really showed that she wants to start fighting with the seniors sooner rather than later. Ida Bobach is the youngest of three very talented siblings. Before last years JWOC she was the only one of them without a JWOC medal - now she has passed both of her older brothers...

Incredible breakthrough this year with the World Championships’ silver and the World Games bronze. Also: winning the Nordic Championships’ relay.

Story
- I crossed the finish line in the lead and was astonished when Pekka (the leader of the Swedish federation) thought that it should be enough for a top-6 position. Then, when Simone sprinted a few seconds behind me I thought that I would soon wake up from a pleasant dream... Linnea has never been in the junior national team of Sweden. 3 years ago she was still an ordinary junior-girl with a nice junior bronze from the Swedish Championships’ ultra long distance. She was a girl with a hidden talent, which still remained deep inside also through her first senior year. Last year one couldn’t ignore it anymore and for the first time in her orienteering career she made into the Swedish team.

Her first World Championships’ gold medal at the sprint in Hungary after a great performance. Also: For doing something that no other elite runner has ever done before - winning all 5 days of O-Ringen. And winning the gold at the Nordic Championships and the opening stage of the World Cup.

Story
She started another successful season on the international level with 2 gold medals at the Nordic Championships in Finland. Running the last leg she brought the victory to Sweden in the relay, and two days later she won this year’s first World Cup race. A few weeks later she left Norway with the bronze in the third event of the World Cup. One month after that she did what no other elite runner has ever done before - won all 5 stages of O-Ringen.
